Website & App Update Excerpts
The Drop and Give Me App
So you can only do five push-ups?
Want to be able to brag to your friends that you do twenty a day.
Or go crazy, work a little harder, and tell them it's forty!
Hey, who says you have to do them all at once?
It's for your iPhone or iPod touch, and it's available now!
Our latest update is out, and along with the change of the app name from Drop and Give Me, what you really care about is probably now that the app will keep track of your push-up history. If you notice in the tab bar, there is now a “History” tab that will show you your daily push-up total. You can also change your daily total of both your push-ups and laziness!
I hope you like the latest update, and I’m working on updating the Just Sit Up app as well! Let me know what you think and keep on pushing’ up!
Happy new year all! First I wanted to wish all of you the best 2012 ever!
On a note for the Drop and Give Me app, I wanted to let you know that coming soon to the paid version of the app, a history tab so you can track your progress. It’s in the final testing stages, and baring any weirdness, should be in the app store in the next few weeks!
Also, along with the app improvements, you’ll also notice I’m working on changing the name of the app to Just Push Up. It’s kind of a marketing thing, kind of a continuity thing, and fits it with it’s sister app, Just Sit Up, a little more.
Thanks for your support, and keep on pushing up!
Our latest update was just approved by Apple, so go ahead and update the app! The major change in this version is that the app will keep a running total of how many push-ups you’ve done based on the number of times you touch the “I did them” button on the home screen. When you get to the “I did them” screen you now have the option to Tweet or Facebook your individual push-up total, or your daily total (you’ll see your daily total at the top of the screen). If you need to adjust your total, you can also manually set it!
Now, this all sounds great except for one thing, and I’ll take all of the blame for making you do another update in about a week if Apple approves the one I submitted yesterday – namely that the the manual adjustment screen has a limit of 100 push-ups. Yup, I submitted the app, was testing it myself for a while, and on a day I went crazy and did 80 pushups throughout the day I realized that, wow, I can’t manually set this thing above 100. So, I put together update 1.4 and sent it off to Apple, and now wait for them to hopefully approve it quickly.
Thanks as always for your support and suggestions!
A user made a great point about the Facebook and Twitter post feature, namely that you couldn’t just send a post with your total push-ups for the day, instead you were sending the amount per set. So, I updated the app so you can post either your daily total, or how many push-ups you are doing per set. If all goes well it should be live soon, so check back to the website every now and then and I’ll post when it’s live.
Our latest update is out and in the app store, and with it you can easily share your success, or laziness, with your Facebook friends or Twitter followers. In the “Settings” area you will find an option for “Facebook/Twitter,” which leads you to the login screens to enable the sharing! Then, when you press the “I Did Them” or “I’m Lazy” buttons on the home screen after doing (or not doing) your push-ups, you can share it with your world!
I hope you like the latest addition to the Drop and Give Me app! Let me know what you think!
Thanks and keep on pushin’ up!
The new update is alive and well in the app store, just to let you know if you haven’t downloaded it yet. For this update I added the ability to choose from five different reminder sounds, or vibrate only, so no more Froggie sound, unless you want it!
I’m also working on the next update that is currently in its final testing stages. The next update will hopefully add the ability to post your push-up updates to your Twitter feed or your Facebook wall. If all goes well I’ll have it off to the Apple folks for approval in the next week, and then it will be in their hands!
Thank you for your support!
An update was submitted to Apple for the Drop and Give Me app. It’s not approved yet, but I’ll be sure to post when it is, or it should just end up when you check for normal updates. The big thing added with this next version is the ability to choose a variety of different sounds for your reminders instead of just the “froggie” that was originally part of the app. There are also a few bug fixes.
Thanks for your support, and keep on droppin’ and pushin’ up!
In celebration of the release of the Drop and Give Me app, I’m giving away 5 copies of the app each day for 5 days, and hell, if we sell enough copies of the app, I might even give away an iPad to one of the qualifiers, but let’s start small for now!

I’m happy to announce that the “Drop and Give Me” app is now available in the Apple app store. The link to the app is here, or simple search “Drop and Give Me” in the iTunes app store. More things will be coming soon, but go ahead, check it out, do some push ups during the day, and let me know what you think and any improvement you might like!
Thanks, and keep on pushing up!
I’ve been working a long time on this app, at least in my relative terms, but it’s just about ready to go, and hopefully the approval will be swift. Once all is well there will be plenty more added to the website, including future updates, other uses, and links to other fun stuff from Webventure Avenue. Until then, be patient – Drop and Give Me should be here, soon!
